‘Firstly, I would like to personally thank both Ryan Light and John Masters for all of their support, and the depth of knowledge they have passed on over the past two seasons, I will be forever grateful. Their record over the past 7 years is truly outstanding and I wish them all the very best for the future and will remain in close contact.
I would also like to thank our chairman Graham Cox and the committee for having the faith and trust to promote from within and trusting the process we have tried to introduce in both our u18 and u23 development squads over the past three seasons.
Shane and I feel both honoured and humbled to be offered the exciting opportunity to manage and coach at this fantastic club. Our enthusiasm, drive and determination to continue Ryan and John’s outstanding work is unwavering and we will work tirelessly both on and off the pitch to push this club forward.
Supporters can rest assured that work has already started to ensure we keep the bulk of this year’s excellent squad together, and with the quality of youth players coming through, and two or three new faces, I believe we will be in a very good place next season.
With the stability and sustainability of the club in mind and our close affinity with the development squads and pathways offered, we look forward to continuing the close working relationship between our u18s and u23s and look forward to announcing our new management teams in due course.
Just finally a message to our fantastic supporters. There will rightly be some heavy hearts with the departure of our previous management team after 7 memorable seasons, but our long-term targets and ambitions do not change in any way, and Shane and I are determined, driven and hungry for more success and hope to bring many more memorable times to The Polegrove.’
