Welcome one and all to the new and exciting website for our football club, firstly many thanks to the Website creators sporlab.net for all of the fantastic work that they have put in making this happen for us.

We hope you enjoy the content so far and over time this will expand and you will be to see fixtures, results, videos, clubhouse events etc to name just a few.

A little about myself as chairman of the club, I confess to not being from a football background but I have a real passion and pride for being a custodian of Bexhill football club , a club rich in history and bursting with energy to move forward into the future.

It was around 12 years ago when my son Matthew was playing for Glenco and as a doting dad I would attend training and matches as often as I could, my first involvement was to offer the then coach of his team Simon Dunne some assistance at training, an offer he snapped up.

I then went on to manage his team with Simon and Nathan little until the lads finished their under-16 season.

At this point, I  stood down from an active coaching role and with a little encouragement from Martin Johnston and Tracy Aston I joined the committee of Bexhill United, I’ve not looked back since and have held various positions over the last 8 years including Matchday Secretary (a position I acquired due to being on holiday while the AGM was conducted, the first lesson learnt!!) I’m also the current Treasurer and held the position of Vice Chairman for a couple of seasons before becoming Chairman when the legendary Bill Harrison stood down, Bill remained at the club as Vice Chairman and his support has been immeasurable during my maiden year.

During the summer of 2019, we made some cosmetic changes at the club to try to make the Matchday experience great for the most important people in the club “our supporters”, the feedback was encouraging and during this unprecedented pandemic we have been hard at work building on these improvements and in particular we are working on defining the club’s history, this has been very exciting and enlightening, there’s so much there to tell so watch this space

We are lucky to have a great team in our committee, longstanding members like Simon Dunne, Tracy Aston and former Glenco Chairman Martin Johnston with bags of experience and enthusiasm, we now have approaching 200 youth members with some fantastic and energetic managers looking after them.

Our U-18’s, U-23’s and the first team here at Bexhill are in good hands and are being overseen by one of the best young managers in the county league, Ryan Light.

Ryan is a busy man always forward-thinking and going the extra mile to take the playing side forward, Ryan has also been inspirational in some of the improvements that have we have made at the club over the past 4 years not least the seed sown for the rebranding.

One thing I have learnt for sure is that football at our level doesn’t happen easily and it’s with thanks to our sponsors, old current and potential new ones. Also many thanks to all of the volunteers at the club that really make everything tick, you are all amazing

I’ve met and remained friends with some wonderful people in the football world both at Bexhill and also some of the opposition, football is really a great community and we move towards the new season whenever that happens with a sense of optimism and hope to see you all back at the Polegrove very soon

Kind Regards

Graham Cox
